PRODUCT INTRODUCTION MANAGER (Talent Pooling)

Summary

The Project Product Introduction Manager is responsible and mandated to lead, manage and control all PI-related activities (delivery, on-site testing, warranty work, modification, PI site management) , in the project to deliver on requirement, budget and schedule including control of the As-Maintained Baseline during warranty periods until handover to the customer or Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the complete running of the Product Introduction team including the hiring, development, training, compensation and administration of the PI Team.
  • Must have complete technical knowledge of the Product to make key decisions and be able to propose technical improvements and design on-site modification methods to Engineering & Production teams.
  • Responsible for the PI Budget – All spending of PI budget including the purchase of PR & NPR will fall under the PI Manager. Responsible for planning the budget and proposing EAC changes to the PM whenever required.
  • Ensure that all Cash-Deliverables pertaining to the PI team are met and if not take mitigation measures to create opportunities to meet the cash flows.
  • Be in the position to take over the project from the PM after DLP
Act as a deputy ROI manager

  • Take over the role of the Risk and Opportunity Manager when he/she is unavailable. Proactively reviewing the ROP databases
HSE management on site

  • Overall responsible for site safety. Conduct regular safety tours with the Safety Manager.
Support for Spare parts and service after DLP and manage the Service Agreement with the suppliers.

  • Proactively approaches suppliers to setup Service Agreements where Opportunities can be made.
  • Responsible for the budget to purchase spares parts for customer spares and DLP spares.
Other special tasks required by the Project Director

  • Once series production vehicles start arriving on-site the PI Manager will act as the deputy to the PD or PM in his/her absence. To be able to assume the role of successor of the PM with immediate effect if required.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholder such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Finance, Accounting, Quality, Product Introduction (Warranty) as well as external stakeholders such as Customers, Vendors, Site Personnel, sub-contractors and consortium partners
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent technical degree
  • At least 3 to 7 years of experience in relevant area such as customer service, PM, etc. with good understanding of client’s requirement in the rail industry.
  • Track record in supervising at least 10 people is expected
  • Superior planning & organizational skills required, basic office applications (e-mail, Microsoft Office, etc), good people management skill
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills in English coupled with the ability to communicate at all levels of the project organization, including customers, sub-contractors, etc.
