BlackRock Real Assets team is sourcing a unique role that will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to join the Global Real Estate Securities (GRES) team in the rapidly changing real assets department. The Global Real Estate Securities team covers public real estate securities with portfolio managers and analysts spread globally across the US, EMEA and APAC. The team employs rigorous fundamental bottom up research to identify and exploit mis-priced securities, in order to strive to deliver consistent, peer leading, risk managed returns. The role location is Singapore, with reporting directly to the co-global Chief Investment Officer(s). All Real Estate Securities products are managed by the global team and all prospective candidates must be able to work constructively in a team environment. The team utilizes proprietary risk analytics to ensure that active exposures are intentional, consistent with the team’s fundamental points-of-view and appropriately scaled.

The candidate will be expected to work closely with the co-global CIOs/portfolio managers to contribute to alpha generation and investment process excellence across the global real estate securities universe. The primary focus will be on APAC.
Specific responsibilities will include the following:
  • Contributing within the Global Real Estate Securities team to all aspects of the equity research and portfolio construction spectrum, and supporting Senior Investment Analysts in their primary coverage
  • Conduct due dillegence on public companies and real estate markets by analyzing financial statements, interviewing company management teams and reviewing other sources of market and company information
  • Work with the portfolio managers to develop and maintain a working investment thesis for a sector and or region of real estate securities
  • The role may require both regional and global travel
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, in both internal and external meetings

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a rigorous Bachelors program or equivalent
  • Knowledge of DCF, NPV, and cash flow models
  • Willing to attain CFA designation
  • Ability to demonstrate strong research, quantitative and analytical skills
  • Achievement and team oriented
  • Creative and critical independent thinker
  • Passion for pursuing a career in real estate and equity investments
  • Meticulous attention to detail essential
  • Organized with a hands-on approach and a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels
